CERCS Industrial Affiliates:
The CERCS center addresses distributed information grids that deliver value
to end users. These complex, large-scale computer/communication systems
connect mobile devices to server systems, link sensors or other information
sources to end users that employ their data, and connect distributed
collaborators to each other and to their remote computational engines. Their
software ranges from web services, to high performance middleware, to
embedded operating systems, to communication devices. CERCS researchers
develop software and hardware solutions and study
their performance, scalability, survivability,
and security properties. The Industry/University
Cooperative Research Center - IUCR/CERCS - has the intent of fostering collaboration between CERCS personnel and companies that create and/or use advanced system technologies. Current members of I/UCRCERC are: Boeing, Dell, Delta Technologies (a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines), HP, IBM, Intel, and Microsoft. Other companies with whom CERCS faculty are interacting include DoCoMo, TIBCO, Raytheon, Siemens, Sony, Sun Microsystems, Xilinx, and others. Basic membership
permits partners to support a CERCS student,
interact with CERCS faculty and staff, and benefit from the general CERCS outreach program. Membership defined
via contractual relationships provide specific rights to research output.
